value for money, peaceful atmosphere, spacious room
An open shop would be appreciated!!! The café's unclear hours were quite frustrating!!! Handling all the bedding upon arrival was annoying, especially after a long trip!!! It reminded me of a hostel experience instead of a retreat!!!

The room resembled a bare-bones hostel setup with ten small box beds. You've got to make your own beds upon arrival and strip the linens afterward. A recurring issue with noise from neighbors disrupted our stay. The odd smell and some mould in the bathroom didn't help. The floors were dirty upon arrival, less than pleasant, and the café options were unclear, as it often felt closed.

Here's why it's a mixed review
The location is fantastic for family adventures. The kids had endless fun with activities like high ropes and climbing. The staff were friendly and helpful.
It's quite basic. While we used the room solely for sleeping, it might not suit travelers seeking a luxurious retreat.

We had a lovely, remote and quiet stay. It was a perfect cheap getaway between devon & cornwall. The high ropes and climbing wall were really fun for my partner & son! The staff were super friendly and really helped us with any issues. It was a great experience and we'd def come back!
The shop on site was closed and we had to put all the bedding on the beds ourselves which was a bit annoying.

Staying for 2 nights in a family room was surprisingly pleasant, with fantastic value for money considering we were a crowd of seven. The kids loved the space to run around, and the lodge maintained a peaceful atmosphere, ideal for relaxation. While the onsite café offered convenient lunches, we found some amenities a bit limited . It was a great spot for a family getaway, though some housekeeping expectations were a bit high.
